The Billy Webb Band is centered around a father/son duo, Billy Webb Jr., and Sr. Billy's father, "Pops" is best known for his work with The Bobby Fuller Four, (I fought the law). He has also shared the stage with many great artists, such as Ricky Nelson, Alabama, and Elvis's band. His unmistakable, pickin' and grinnin' are sure to please.
Billy Jr. is a chip off the old block and brings a modern edge to this classic act.His many influences shine through with his melodic, soulful riffs.
Their latest album, Like father, like son is a celebration of their musical lives and experiences. It would be impossible to come up with a singular definition of their unique style. There are covers like "Sleepwalk", which celebrate the life of the late Helen Staneski, (Beloved mother and grandmother), and classics like Route 66 and Stormy Monday. These are the staples of the Webb's early days.
Additionally, there are several original contemporary compositions, which reflect a new musical horizon. Mexico and Los Pangueros lead you on a ride south of the border where the Webbs frequently fish and relax. After hours jam sessions and spontaneous instrumentals were captured in a home studio environment. If you listen closely, you may even hear Billy's mother Mary joining in on background vocals!
